ABSTRACT
Observation of probiotic bacteria on the digestive tract of Ephinephelus fuscogatus has been conducted from
Februari to April 2003 in Marin Microbiology Laboratory, Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Science, University of
Riau. The isolation and identification of bacteria was carried out through morphology and biochemistry tests.
The result of the study indicated that probiotic bacteria in the digestive tract of Ephinephelus fuscogatus composed
by Lactococcus sp., Carinoacterium sp., Staphylococcus sp., Bacillus sp., Eubacterium sp., Pseudomonas sp.,
Lactobacillus sp., and Micrococcus sp.
